VW Polo GTi
VW has launched a new Polo which is far more grown up as there’s now the up! below it, but this new range now gets a proper GTi model, with only 30bhp less than the Golf. Could this be the GTi of choice? Well on looks it certainly seems so, with a stylish yet sporty look, great details like the red line running through the grille and headlights and the traditional tartan seat trim. The Polo is no longer a little hatch, so performance isn’t other-worldly, but with that power going through their DSG gearbox you’ll be throwing it down your favourite back road in no time.
RR Velar D180S
The new Velar sits between the Evoque and Sport but promises to be the best selling Range Rover ever. Based on the same platform as the Jaguar F-Pace, the Velar is the most road-biased Range Rover yet, but still has the full complement of Land Rover off-roading tech should you wish to use it. A new sleeker exterior along with a far cooler interior with touch screens all over the centre console make for the most futuristic Range Rover yet. This Velar S majors on value and economy, with a 2.0 litre turbodiesel engine putting out 178bhp mated to an eight-speed auto gearbox averaging 52.5mpg, but still has all the luxury you expect and a great standard features list.
